Bookkeeping for contractors in Central Texas
I keep the books current, track job costs the right way, and give you numbers you can use to run the business.
I work with general contractors, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, remodeling, and similar trades in Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Austin, and nearby Central Texas. Most of the work is remote. We can meet when it makes sense.
The books should match how the work actually runs.
A lot of bookkeepers treat a contractor like any other small business. That falls apart once you have jobs, change orders, retainage, progress billing, and subcontractors.
If the file is set up like a retail shop or a simple service company, the reports will look fine and still not tell you which jobs made money. That is the gap I work on.

Who this is for
This is a good fit if you are running work in Central Texas and the books are either behind, messy, or current but not useful. Typical clients are GCs and trade shops that have outgrown doing the books at night or handing everything to whoever is in the office that week.
I also work with small businesses outside the trades when they want the same thing: accurate records and straightforward communication.
How it works
First I learn how the business is set up and where the books stand now. Then I clean the file up and organize it so the monthly work stays accurate. After that you get monthly reports and a review.
If you already have a CPA, I work with them. The goal is a clean file they can use, not a second set of books.

Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Austin, and the rest of the Central Texas area. You do not need to be in Leander to work with me.
